Stunning Fordite piece set in sterling silver, open back step bezel.

Fordite dates back to the 1920's when layers upon layers of paint would build up in the bays, eventually needing to be removed. Someone discovered that the dried up paint layers could be cut and polished just like gemstones, resulting in unique colors and patterns, creating stunning one-of-a-kind pieces. 

Most of the Fordite used today is from the 60's to late 70's since the 1980's is when car manufacturers moved away from the hand spray painting method. 

Comes with an 18" sterling silver chain.
